This policy explains what information Scales By Suzy (operated by Artwork by Suzy, LLC, d/b/a Software by Suzy) collects and how it's used. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address (via our authentication provider, Supabase). When you subscribe, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment details directly — we never see or store your full card number. If you provide optional feedback — for example, a reason for cancelling — we retain that text along with your account information.
Your email is used to manage your account, send billing-related notifications, and provide support. Subscription and billing status is used to determine your access to the Service.
We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Stripe for payment processing. Each has its own privacy practices governing the data they handle on our behalf.
We retain account and subscription data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal and accounting obligations.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon request, we will delete your personal account data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
If you request data deletion, we retain your email address, the date your account was deleted, and the date your activity ended for up to 13 months, solely to prevent creation of duplicate Trial accounts. This information is not used for any other purpose and will be held separately from active users.
We collect data about your in-app activity — such as scales practiced, instruments selected, and session frequency — to provide the Service, track your feedback-based extension eligibility, and improve the app. This usage data is tied to your account but is not shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We currently do not use cookies. Your login session and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage, not cookies, and we do not currently have any analytics or marketing cookies. The one exception is our payment processor, Stripe: when you subscribe or manage a subscription through Stripe Checkout or the Stripe Customer Portal, Stripe sets cookies on its own domain that are strictly necessary for secure payment processing and fraud prevention, governed by Stripe's own privacy practices, not ours. As the Service evolves, we may need to use cookies in the future. If we do, we will update this Policy and notify you as described in Section 9.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active subscribers by email or through an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
